5. Your First Event at a Glance
This chapter shows the shortest path from your first start to your first game. It contains only what you really need; everything else is optional and listed at the end. Where a step needs more detail, a reference leads to the chapter that explains it. The Quick Start Guide covers the same path in condensed form.
What You Need#
- at least one member, that is, a player
- one promotion, so that every player starts with play money
- one event, completely filled out, with its players and their positions
You do not need side bets or a checklist for your first game. CTM ships with an empty standard checklist, so a new event has no tasks and counts as complete.
Step by Step#
- Install CTM and activate your license.
→ See Installation and License Activation.
- Open MBER and enter your players.
- Open PRMO and create a promotion, for example WELCOME BONUS, with the amount that each player receives.
- Open EVNT and create the event. Fill in the title, date, times, table minimum, table maximum, payout limit, odds, and game mode.
→ See Creating and Editing Events; Table Limits and Game Settings.
- Press +ADD/DEL PLAYERS and add your players to the event.
- Select your promotion for the event.
- When your guests have taken their places at the table, enter their positions, return to the Event Manager, and press EXE to save the event. The event is now PREPARED.
→ See Assigning Positions and Event Status.
- Activate the event.
- In FNCE, select your promotion and book it to the players of the event. Every player now has play money.
→ See Booking Starting Credit.
- Open GAME, press START under TIMER, and record every roll.
→ See Recording the Game.
After the Game#
- Book the players' final scores in FNCE.
- Look at the results in HIST, and print them if you like.
- Finalize the event.
→ See Final Scores and Player Requests; Game Play Statistics; Finalizing an Event.
Optional Extras#
Add these whenever you are ready:
- Side bets
→ See Side Bets; Side Bets and Promotions for an Event.
- Checklists
→ See The Standard Checklist and The Event Checklist.
Jackpot Configuration File (Pro)#
Press the LSK next to the jackpot configuration entry to open the configuration file in Notepad. CTM creates it with default values if it does not yet exist. By default, it is located at Documents\Hummel Gaming Files\JackpotConfig.txt. Changes take effect as soon as you save the file.
→ See Progressive Jackpot.
Jackpot Mode (Pro)#
Each press of the LSK next to the jackpot switch advances to the next mode: < ACTIVATE in amber means that the jackpot is off; < WHEEL JACKPOT ACTIVE and < SIDE BET JACKPOT ACTIVE in green indicate the active mode. The Basic edition hides these entries.
→ See Progressive Jackpot.
- Printouts: Enter your company name, location, and header image.
→ See Settings Page 3 – Printouts and Preferences; The Event Fact Sheet.
- Backups
→ See Backups and Restore.
- Pro: digital signage, light show, sound effects, wheels, and the progressive jackpot.
→ See Digital Signage; Lighting Scenes; Game Show Controller and Sound Effects; Bonus Wheel; Progressive Jackpot.
